Dante Thomas grew up as the son of an opera singer in Salt Lake City and was discovered by the producer of Lauryn Hill and Fugees member Pras Michel. The first single “Miss California” reached the top of the German charts and was awarded a gold record. He also received gold and platinum awards in other European countries. Shortly afterwards the first album “Fly” was released, which reached the top ten of the European charts.

In 2002 he took part in the single of the singer Inessa. This song reached the top 20. After that it became quiet around Thomas. Only in 2004 the third solo single “Get It On” was released. The song was written by the German songwriter and producer Obi Wan Keno, David Massag & Denis the Menice. The single reached the Top-20 and was number two in the German Radio Charts. At the beginning of August 2007 the new single “What I Got” was released in Germany after a break of three years. In summer 2009 the single “Isn’t It True” followed.

On 29 July 2011 the single “Damage Is Done” was released on the label Depro P Records, distributed by Warner Music Group. The single was immediately able to place itself in the German charts. It is a pre-release from the album “Hardcore On Videotape”, which was released in spring 2013. Thomas lived in Hamburg-Altona since January 2011. Meanwhile he is separated from his wife and lives in Saarland. He has a son and a daughter.

Dante Thomas recorded the song “These Days” with Kris, the guitarist of Revolverheld, in March 2012. The song was released as a single on 4 May 2012. In 2012 he also took part in the music show “The Winner is…” in the category “Professionals”, but was eliminated in the second round on 11 May.

In summer 2012 the single “Feeling So Blue” was released, in which he was guest musician for the Michael Mind Project. The song uses a sample of the 1999 hit “Blue” (Da Ba Dee). “Feeling So Blue” was presented on the Kontor Top of the Clubs Vol. 55 compilation. The single was placed in the top half of the charts of the German, Austrian and Swiss Top 100. After the successful cooperation a new single with the Michael Mind Project was released on September 14th, 2012. The song bears the name “Nothing Lasts Forever” and was also presented on a Kontor compilation.

The album “Hardcore On Videotape” was released at the end of May 2013. It was originally planned for autumn 2011. For unknown reasons the release was postponed several times. The second single release was the title “Caught in the Middle”, which was produced by the Michael Mind Project. Parallel to the album the single “Alive” was released.

In 2016 he recorded the song “A Guy Like You” together with the Romanian pop singer Claudia Pavel, which was released as a single shortly afterwards. He also supported the rapper Kay One in his search for a new singer in the six-part TV format “Kay One – Sängerin gesucht”.

On September 30, 2017, Thomas participated as a candidate in the RTL program “Das Supertalent”.
